Uttarakhand: Rishikesh-Badrinath route closed, 400 passengers stranded

Synopsis

Public Works Department was working continuously to open the blocked route. Meanwhile, the alternate routes have been found. Passengers are being moved forward from Padd Ghasi.  

Gopeshwar Rishikesh - Badrinath National Highway was closed for about 40 hours on Saturday due to landslides in Lambagad. 

After 40 hours, the route was opened. However, Shetrapal area, which is only a short distance away from the route was closed again due to landslides. 

Public Works Department was working continuously to open the road. Meanwhile, the alternate routes have been found. Stranded passengers are being moved forward from Padd Ghasi.

The local police and SDRF teams are on the spot. 400 passengers are stranded on the Badrinath route alone.
