Hathras: A photojournalist and BJP MLA Hari Shankar Mahor’s son were injured during the Shastri Puja function organised by the RSS in Hathras' Bagla College ground.
Sources said both were injured when the firing took place on the campus.
The photojournalist has been identified as Vinod and sources said he suffered bullet injuries on his neck. He was rushed to the district hospital from where he was transferred to the Aligarh Medical College. The MLA’s son was also rushed to the district hospital.
The BJP leader said that the firing is a usual custom carried out during Dussehra celebrations every year. He said the accident took place due to the rifle butt being faulty.
