Kochi: While a large number of protesters ‘gheraoed’ Trupti Desai at the Kochi International Airport on Friday as she landed in Kerala to once again try and enter the Sabarimala temple, BJP leader AN Radhakrishnan alleged that Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan had specially called and invited her.
Radhakrishnan alleged that Vijayan had invited Desai to violate the traditions of Sabarimala, adding that the chief minister's phone be examined for records to prove his point. Radhakrishnan reached the airport to join the protest against Desai. She was unaware of Sabarimala tradition, he claimed.
Radhakrishnan also called upon the police to examine the phone records of the chief minister’s secretary too.
On November 16, Desai and five others landed at the Kochi International Airport around 4:30 am to try and enter the Sabarimala shrine. The six were not able to get out of the terminal as Ayyappa devotees began protesting arguing that her entry into the shrine would affect devotees’ sentiments.
