Tricolour desecrated: Nation's pride wounded as mosque replaces Ashoka Chakra

Synopsis

According to the complaint, instead of the Ashoka Chakra in the middle of the flag, the photo of a mosque was put up - which amounts to showing disrespect to the national flag, the Hindu groups alleged

Shahjahanpur: In a case of blatant disrespect to the Indian national flag, during the Muslim celebration of Julus-e-Gausia on December 19, the Ashoka Chakra was replaced with the photo of a mosque.

The police on Friday said that they have ordered a probe after Hindu outfits Jagran Manch and the Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Mahasabha submitted a complaint.

The event took place in Shahjahanapur's Puranpur area in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the complaint, instead of the Ashoka Chakra in the middle of the flag, the photo of a mosque was put up - which amounts to showing disrespect to the national flag, the Hindu groups alleged.

The Superintendent of Police Balendu Bhushan Singh said that the matter was being probed and required action will be taken if anyone is found guilty.
