Netizens slam biased report, #CropLikeTheHindu trends on Twitter

New Delhi: Netizens roasted The Hindu newspaper by flooding the social media platforms with hilarious memes and in no time #croplikethehindu became the most trending hashtag on Twitter.

The public criticised the media group for their report, which accused the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) of interfering in the negotiation with France on Rafale deal. 

According to the Hindu’s report, in a letter sent by the then defence Secretary G Mohan Kumar, dated December 1, 2015, to the then defence minister Manohar Parrikar, the former expressed concerns about the PMO's interference with negotiations in the Rafale deal.

However, it was later revealed that The Hindu cropped the entire letter and used only a part of it.

As expected, the report failed to produce the truth. The same letter had a hand-written remark from Parrikar which exposed the ‘biased’ story by the media organisation. 

Trying to cash on the opportunity, the Congress launched a scathing attack on Modi by citing the ‘biased’ report. 

Many criticised the newspaper of spreading ‘misinformation’ and being misused by the Congress for political gain.

Later during the day, when the full letter came out in the public domain, netizens further trolled the newspaper for their ‘crop job’.
