Hyderabad: The organisers of the Sunburn music festival have been booked for risking the lives of the audience. It is reported that the organisers failed to make proper arrangements for the audience and they also disobeyed the orders of the police. The event was held in Hyderabad on December 29.

As per reports, the event organisers were asked to end the programme by 10 pm, but they failed to take necessary actions. The police lodged a case against the organisers for not following the instructions of the police and for putting the lives of the public at risk.
Gachibowli police inspector R Srinivas said, “The organisers ensured concluding the event before 10 pm. And the footage of the event showed that the event was stopped five minutes before the deadline. But, they failed to provide proper parking and the crowd was not at all managed well. A case has been booked against the organisers under Sections 188 and 336 of IPC, and the investigation is on.”
It is alleged that this is not for the first time that the festival landed into controversy. Last year, the Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao requested the police to stop the event, stating that the event is against the Indian culture.
The leader also said that the youth were getting spoilt due to the dance, music and alcohol in the event. He said tickets for the event had already been sold out at an exorbitant price of Rs 5,000 each and the organisers were allowing youths who were below 15 years of age to attend the event.
Earlier, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson Addanki Dayakar said the government was promoting drug culture in the city through such events.
