Pathanamthitta: Two women of menstrual age group visited the Sabarimala temple on Wednesday morning and got darshan of the Lord Ayyappa.
The two women are identified as Bindu from Kozhikode and Kanakadurga from Malappuram. The two had earlier made a failed attempt to trek Sabarimala, and now the duo claimed that they had their darshan of the Lord on Wednesday at 3.30 am.
Addressing the media, Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that this move has expressed satisfaction over the women's philosophy, and also said that this time there was no protest or demonstration as before.
According to reports, Bindu said that the Kerala Police helped them to have their darshan in their second journey. The two also claimed that they faced minor protests during the trip and no namajappam protest was seen.
Bindu also said that they did not ascend the 18 holy steps but got their darshan through the VIP lounge. Their journey to the hill began from Pamba at 1:30 am and got their darshan by 3:30 am.
After the darshan, Bindu claimed that the police officials did not try to send them back but provided required safety measures for their visit. Bindu added that they went to the temple in women's attire itself and the devotees did not shield them.
