New Delhi: After serving Robert Vadra three notices to join the investigation, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday conducted searches at three locations in Delhi and other cities associated with Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s brother-in-law. According to sources in the ED, four teams investigating Vadra's assets abroad conducted the raids.
Earlier, the ED had served two notices to Vadra who reportedly did not turn up to join probe. ED then served the third notice and later conducted the search operations.
The agency says that the raids have been conducted in connection with a defence deal.
“They have locked our people of Skylight hospitality inside, they are not allowing anyone to go inside. Is this Nazism? Is this a jail?” Suman Jyoti Khaitan, a lawyer representing Vadra, exclaimed before reporters.
“It has been four-and-a-half years and they found nothing, so now they have locked us out and planting and fabricating evidence,” a defence lawyer said
