Pinglan: The Jaish-e-Mohammad commander Kamran alias Ghazi Rasheed, who masterminded the Pulwama massacre on February 14, has been killed by the security forces in the Pinglan encounter in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

One more JeM militants were also gunned down.

Sources confirmed the news to MyNation and said that the operation to kill the JeM commander lasted for several hours as he and other terrorists were hiding in residential areas.

However, there is no official statement by security agencies about Kamran’s killing as of yet.

According to the sources, the operation is taking time as security forces have to combat stone pelters who have gathered at the spot. They were trying to protect terrorists by distracting the Army personnel by throwing stones on them.

Reports said a joint team of Indian Army’s 55 Rashtriya Rifles, CRPF and Special Operation Group launched a cordon in the wee hours on Monday.

Unfortunately, four Army men, including a major-rank officer, were martyred during the encounter. A civilian, identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, was also killed in the gunfight.
