Pakistan violates ceasefire along LoC for 8th time in 3 days, Army major injured

Srinagar: One Indian Army major and a head constable of the Border Security Force (BSF) were injured on Thursday evening as Pakistani rangers targeted Indian posts along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri sector.

There were heavy firing and mortar shelling from across the border in Tarkundi area of Rajouri sector. “Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing by targeting forward duty points at the LoC in Rajouri, causing critical injuries to an Army major and a head constable of the BSF,” a senior BSF official said.

Both of the injured officials were airlifted to Udhampur base hospital and their condition is reported to be stable.

This is the eighth case of ceasefire violation along the LoC in the past three days.
