Berhampur: A 65-year old businessman was arrested in Berhampur, Odisha, for allegedly sodomising a seven-year-old boy, police said on Sunday.
Though the incident took place on July 22, the accused was arrested on Friday as he was undergoing treatment in a hospital in Bhubaneswar, said Inspector In-Charge of Bada Bazaar police station, Suresh Chandra Tripathy.
A case was registered against the accused, on July 24, two days after the incident, when the father of the victim lodged an FIR, he said.
The accused allegedly lured the minor boy by offering chocolates. He had sodomised the boy in his godown, police said. The victim's father complained to police after the boy narrated the incident.
Police came to know that he was discharged from the hospital on Thursday evening and arrested him from his house on Friday, said the IIC.
