Shiv Sena claimed that the opposition does not have enough power to bring down the government. But this is stated as a way to be heard before the impending 2019 general elections.
The Narendra Modi government was left red-faced at the Lok Sabha today as their ally in Maharashtra refrained from voting at the no-trust motion. This comes after BJP president Amit Shah called Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray requesting his support. They, however, are taking part in the debate.
They further embarrassed the BJP in their mouthpiece 'Saamna'. Slamming the Narendra Modi-led NDA government Shiv Sena said that those ruling the country are 'butchers, who save animals but kill humans'.
Shiv Sena, in Saamna, said, "Those ruling the country today are butchers, who save animals but kill humans. There is absolute lack of compassion (in the minds of the rulers). Winning elections and remaining in power by hook or crook is not democracy. Majority is never permanent. Country's people are supreme."

Sena also asked the NDA to introspect why Telugu Desam Party quit the alliance and initiated the no-confidence motion. The Sena claimed that it was NDA's 'ego' that has instigated its own allies to turn against them. Sena also claimed that the NDA backstabbed people on a range of issues from Kashmir to 'achhe din'.
