Kottayam: Bishop Franco Mulakkal, who was arrested on Friday in the sexual abuse case lodged by the nun, was discharged from Kottayam medical college at 7.30 am on Saturday. He was discharged as the doctors did not find any medical related issues in the tests conducted in the morning.
Mulakkal was shifted to the hospital on Friday after his blood pressure was recorded at 200 and variation was found in his ECG. He was under medical observation for almost six hours.
Blood pressure was normal this morning and there were no other medical issues detected. The report submitted by the doctors state that minute variations in ECG are negligible and the probability of a heart attack is least likely.
It was decided to discharge the Bishop following this. He will be moved to the police club immediately. Later, they will take a decision on presenting him before the court.
