Synopsis

Thiruvananthapuram: One of the transgender students of Kerala is contesting the college union election. Nadira is contesting as an AISF candidate at AJ College, Thozhakkal in Thiruvananthapuram.

Nadira is pursuing her final year BA Mass Communication. It was a year ago when Nadira informed the world that she is a transgender. She realised that she was a transgender in Class 8.  Nadira has many reasons to contest the college election. She wants other transgenders to also come up in the society like her.

Nadira received immense support from the transgender community of her city and they are her inspiration. She has an ardent interest in modelling too.

When Nadira's parents came to know that she was a transgender, they refused to accept the fact and were shocked. She managed to run away from home and started living separately.

Even our society started to welcome transgenders, there are still many inside the shells, Nadira said.  She is too happy and confident to contest the election because of the love and support of her college mates.
