Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala DGP Loknath Behra has explained that no media would be banned from Sabarimala, when the temple doors open on November 5 for the one-day festival of Chithira Attavisesham, an auspicious day in the Malayalam calendar. He also clarified that media would be allowed to pass through the check posts when the security measures are completely arranged.
"The media personnel were attacked by protesters last time. Devotees and journalists should be protected. The Kerala police will not impose any ban on media. We hope that the security arrangements will be made completely before Sunday evening. No other details can be revealed now,” said Behra.

Pathanamthitta district police chief C Narayanan said that no women had approached them seeking protection to visit the temple on November 5. He also clarified that protection would be ensured for devotees at Sabarimala.
Meanwhile, Kerala police have registered 543 cases and 3701 Ayyappa devotees, who participated in the agitation over Sabarimala issue in Pathanamthitta, have been arrested.
It has been reported that the police security is being increased because of the intelligence report which states that several organisations are allegedly trying to create ruckus at Sabarimala using women.
