Kupwara: One soldier of the Indian Army was injured in an encounter in forests of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.

A party of 47 Rashtriya Rifles were attacked by terrorists at Babar Nad forests of Wagbhal on Wednesday night.

Confirming the injury, an Army official told MyNation that in the incident, jawan Gursay Singh received bullet injuries and was taken to the military hospital for further treatment. The condition of the injured soldier is stated to be stable.

Additional reinforcement was rushed to the spot and search operations were going on when reports last came in.
