Synopsis

The Jet Airways flight 9w-162 had departed from Jaipur International Airport at 4pm, on its way to New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport. It was delayed by one hour and fifteen minutes

New Delhi: A major air disaster was averted on Monday when a Jet Airways flight made an emergency landing following a bird hit. 

The Jet Airways flight 9w-162 had departed from Jaipur International Airport, Sanganer at 4pm, on its way to New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport. 

The aircraft suffered the bird hit a short while after taking off, as a result of which the pilot had to go for an emergency landing. The aircraft was delayed by one hour and fifteen minutes.  

All passengers have been reported to be safe.

However, Jet Airways refused to comment on this issue.
