Aligarh: In a move to keep a check on anti-national activities inside the Aligarh Muslim University campus, the university administration on Friday suspended three Kashmiri students for paying tribute to Hizbul Mujahideen commander Manan Wani.

The suspension was, however, made on Thursday itself but an official order was released on Friday.

All the three suspended students are from Kashmir valley and after the death of Hizbul commander Manan Wani, they tried to offer namaz to glorify the killing of the dreaded terrorist.

Speaking to MyNation over the phone, proctor of AMU Mohsin Khan said, “The three Kashmiri students have been suspended for anti-national activities.”

Manan Wani was pursuing his Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University and left the degree in between to join the terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen in January. The district commander of Kupwara district was gunned down in Handwara yesterday by security forces.

The university administration, however, has not revealed the name of the three suspended students. Speaking to MyNation, professor Peerzada said, "It's too early to go with the records; we will be able to share names after two to three hours."
