Shopian: A policeman was killed by terrorists in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir after they attacked the district police station.
The terrorists first hurled a grenade and then opened fire at the police station. The police retaliated and foiled the attack, and in the process, a jawan got injured. He later succumbed to his injuries.
A senior police official told MyNation that the terrorists first attacked the police station with grenades and later opened fire on the policemen stationed there. The injured policeman died on the way while he was being taken to the hospital.
The deceased jawan has been identified as Sakib Mir.
After the incident, the terrorists escaped with the rifle. The police have intensified the efforts of arresting the terrorists and search operations are underway.
