According to news reports, the IB mentioned that some people from the Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) were spotted among the Rohingya refugees
New Delhi: The intelligence bureau (IB) has claimed that there has been a considerable movement of Rohingya refugees from India's northeastern states to the south in the past few days. It has submitted a fresh report on this to Union home minister Rajnath Singh.
According to The Print, the IB, in its report, named Kerala and Hyderabad as the two states that are receiving Rohingya refugees the most. The report also mentioned that the trains used for the movement of the Rohingya refugees are the Delhi-bound Northeast Express, Vivek Express from Dibrugarh to Kanyakumari and the Guwahati-Trivandrum Central Express.
"There is movement of these people from Guwahati in trains going to Palghat — train no: 12508, 12506 and 15906 are being used," the report said.
The IB report also mentioned that the movement is being facilitated by a few radical elements and called the situation a "threat to national security".
According to news reports, the IB mentioned that some people from the Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami (HuJI) were spotted among the Rohingya refugees. There are also other terrorist organisations that are trying to recruit the refugees.
On September 26, the Union home ministry received a tip off from the Railway Protection Force (RPF) about possible movement to Rohingya refugees to Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
India has been the second largest victim of large-scale migration of Rohingyas from Myanmar, with as many as 40,000 of them scattered around the country.
On October 4, India sent a pack of Rohingya Muslims hailing from Myanmar back to their country of origin.
The Rohingyas deported had been identified as Md Inus, Md Sabir Ahmed, Md Jamal, Md Salam, Md Mukbul Khan and Md Jamal Hussain. MyNation has exclusive details of their origin. All of them are from the Faida district of Myanmar.
