The guild released a statement saying, "The newsroom is the most inclusive workspace in terms of gender. It is our responsibility as media leaders to ensure that it remains safe and fair for all, especially women."
New Delhi: With multiple allegations of sexual harassment against men in media organisations coming to light, the Editors Guild of India released a statement condemning the lack of safety in newsrooms.
The organisation that describes itself as 'not a watchdog, but a conscience keeper' of the Indian media industry wrote in the statement on Tuesday that it "condemned all predatory conduct by men". The Guild also expresses its gratitude and solidarity towards women journalists who have displayed the courage to bring these critical issues in public debate.

Renowned names in the field of journalism such as minister and former editor MJ Akbar, political editor Prashant Jha, editor-in-chief Gautam Adhikari, editor KR Sreenivas and Mayank Jain of Business Standard are a few of the men accused under the #metoo wave.
