Diwali: Telangana's firecracker retailers woo customers with price cuts

Hyderabad: Based on the Supreme Court verdict, Telangana government has announced that firecrackers must be burst only between 8 pm and 10 pm. The firecracker vendors across the city slashed the prices to attract customers. 

The firecrackers were sold for Rs 100 last year and are now available for Rs 80. The price of a box of flower pots has been reduced by half as compared to the previous year. It is now available for Rs 400. And the cost of 12 shots has slumped from Rs 300 to Rs 250. 

"The prices of firecrackers have been reduced to attract customers," said a retailer to The Hans India. However, another vendor said that introduction of license for the sale of firecrackers is also the reason for the limited stalls across the city.
