New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday dropped contempt proceedings against Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari even as it condemned "the false machismo and bravado" that he showed while de-sealing properties.
A bench headed by the Justice Madan B Lokur said it was "pained by his conduct" during the sealing exercise.
The top court, closing the contempt case, described Tiwari's action as "misplaced bravado" including his chest thumping.
Tiwari had drawn the court's ire when he broke the seal of a dairy in Mangolpuri area here on September 15.
The property in north-east Delhi was sealed as it was being used as a "dairy facility" and was allegedly being run in violation of the Delhi Master Plan.
The Supreme Court had previously issued a contempt notice to Tiwari after taking cognisance of a report filed by the court-mandated monitoring committee that he had allegedly broken the seal of premises, which was sealed by the civic body.
