CISF in Hyderabad arrest passenger carrying Rs 1 crore worth unaccounted foreign currency

Synopsis

While screening the baggage at the airport in Hyderabad, CISF personnel found a Dubai-bound passenger carrying unaccounted foreign currency. They handed him over to the customs officials and the investigation is on.

Hyderabad: A passenger was caught at the international departure terminal of Rajiv Gandji International Airport in Hyderabad with unaccounted foreign currency translating to Rs 1 crore.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials nabbed him while screening his baggage.

CISF sub-inspector Varun Kumar found currencies of seven countries (UAE dirhams, Saudi riyals, Kuwaity dinars, US dollars, etc) with him. The accused, identified as Mohammed Parvaz, was reportedly heading to Dubai.

The passenger is now in the custody of the customs officials. And the investigation is on.
