Shridhar Chillal is 80-years-old, but his nails are 66-years-old. Just before cutting his nails, they measured a length of 909.6 cm, which means more than 9 metres.
The Guinness World Record holder for having the 'Longest Fingernails on a Single Hand Ever' was flown to New York by Ripley's Believe It or Not museum for cutting his nails after six decades. His nails are currently kept in the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum at Times Square in New York, which will be unveiled for the public soon.

A report in the Hindu stated about a situation of Shridhar Chillal's childhood, which made him stop cutting his nails. In 1952, Shridhar was in school when his action accidentally resulted in his nails getting cut. Immediately, the teacher reportedly told Chillal that he would never understand the importance of nails because he was apparently never committed to anything.
This moved Chillal so much that he decided that day to stop cutting his nails and followed it for 66 years.

Chillal has even done a cameo in the movie Jackass 2.5. While these long nails may have earled him the Guinness record, Chillal reportedly suffered a lot due to these nails.
The weight of the nails led to disfigured fingers and his left hand stopped functioning too. He also suffered nerve damage and his left ear turned deaf.
