Synopsis

Maa Kalratri is honored on the seventh day of the Chaitra Navratri festival. This year's Maa Kalratri will be celebrated on April 15, 2024.  

During Navratri, nine forms of Maa Durga are worshipped. Devi Kalratri is the sixth form. Maa Kalratri is traditionally worshipped on the sixth day of Navratri. Worshiping Maa Kalratri on this day results in a worthy child. Also, the devotees' wishes are granted, and they receive happiness and good fortune.

Who is Maa Kalratri?
Maa Kalratri is regarded as the ferocious and strong manifestation of Goddess Durga. Her name 'Kalratri' means 'the one who is the death of darkness'. She is shown with a dark complexion, disheveled hair, and an angry attitude. Maa Kalratri wears a skull garland and carries a sword and a noose. Despite her intimidating look, she is the embodiment of protection and benefits for her followers.

Why Should We Worship Maa Kalratri?
Devotees do the Maa Kalratri puja to gain protection from negative energies, evil forces, and worries. She is believed to remove ignorance and give heavenly enlightenment to her followers. Worshiping Maa Kalratri inspires fearlessness, courage, and strength to conquer life's hurdles and trials. She is also venerated for spiritual growth and freedom from the cycle of birth and death.

Puja Vidhi: 
On April 15, 2024, after taking a morning bath, meditate and pray to Mata Kalratri. After you have completed Ghatasthapana, place the statue or portrait of Mata Kalratri on a crimson or yellow cloth. Now apply Tilak to Mata Kalratri using Kumkum and Akshat. Worship Goddess Kalratri correctly by offering her bhog.
Mata Kalratri prefers the color white, so send her white flowers and offerings. Before ending the puja, recite the Mata Kalratri adoration mantras.

To honor Goddess Kalratri, it is customary to offer jaggery on the seventh day of Navratri. Doing this brings sweetness, happiness, and wealth into your life. You can also provide various bhog and prasad, including sweets.
