Success Story: Most UPSC aspirants dream of becoming IAS or IPS officers. However, some choose a different path. Vidushi Singh from Jodhpur is one such example. She secured an All India Rank 13 in the UPSC exam. Inspired by her grandparents' dream, she chose the Indian Foreign Service instead of IAS. Let's learn about her UPSC journey and preparation strategies.
Vidushi Singh was born in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, but spent her childhood in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. She excelled in academics from a young age and aspired to achieve something different. Vidushi Singh pursued Economics Honours from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi University. She started preparing for UPSC during her college days. Notably, she didn't join any coaching institute for this challenging exam but relied entirely on self-study.
Vidushi Singh effectively managed her college time and began studying from NCERT and essential books. She chose Economics as her optional subject. Through hard work and discipline, she cleared the UPSC exam in her first attempt at just 21 years old.
While most UPSC toppers opt for IAS, Vidushi Singh chose a different path. She followed her heart and chose IFS. This decision was also influenced by her grandparents' dream of seeing her represent India abroad.
Vidushi Singh believes that success in exams like UPSC requires regular practice, mock tests, and continuous revision. Planning and time management are the most crucial tools.
