Uttar Pradesh: Father booked for raping daughters; mother held

Lucknow: An Uttar Pradesh man has been booked for allegedly raping his daughters  (21-year-old and minor). The incident came to light after the elder daughter approached the police.

21-year-old elder daughter got pregnant several times, but her mother gave her contraceptives. The girl, who lives in Chinhat on the outskirts of Lucknow, told the police that she had reconciled to fate, but when her father started sexually abusing her younger sister; she mustered courage and approached the police.

The victim has alleged that she was repeatedly raped by her father for over a decade with her mother's active consent. The mother of the daughters has been charged with abetting the abuse.

The 44-year-old man is booked under the POCSO Act on charges of sexually abusing and raping his two daughters. The survivors have recorded their statements before a magistrate.
