Lucknow: Hotel and guest house owners of Mathura and Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, have come forward to support the Confederation of All India Traders’ (CAIT) campaign to boycott Chinese products.

They have decided to ban entry of Chinese citizens into hotels and guest houses in the holy towns of Mathura and Vrindavan. Also, they said they will not serve Chinese food in their hotels. As per the decision, Chinese nationals will not be provided accommodation in any of the hotels or guest houses.

The decision comes amid the standoff between India and China in Ladakh. Twenty Indian soldiers were martyred in the Galwan Valley in violent clashes with Chinese troops.

Mathura Vrindavan Hotel Owners Association’s general secretary Amit Jain said, “We have taken a pledge to give full support to CAIT for the campaign (boycott Chinese products) and the hotel owners have taken a decision that they will not book rooms for Chinese citizens in hotels and guest houses (in Mathura and Vrindavan).”

Jain stated that their motive is clear and very soon they will begin ‘Boycott Chinese products’ campaign in the entire Braj region in Uttar Pradesh.

Across India, several groups and trade organisations have started boycotting Chinese products and many Indians have set Chinese products on fire.

Recently, the hotel and guest house owners in Delhi said they will not provide accommodation to Chinese nationals.
