As Maharashtra yearns for a stable government, to be formed by Congress, NCP and Shiva Sena, we take a look at what would have happened at the national level, if Narendra Modi had failed to garner the robust numbers and gain a clear majority

Bengaluru: By now, it’s almost certain that three parties with ideologies diametrically opposite will form a hotchpotch government in Maharashtra.

Now, for a moment, enlarge the Maharashtra political impasse to the national level.

PM Modi-led NDA stormed back to power earlier this year with seats in excess of 300.

In case, the Modi-led NDA had fallen just below the 250 mark, just spare a thought as to what would have happened!

With the sole aim and motive to defeat Narendra Modi and box him to a corner, various parties would have joined hands, with no clear vision whatsoever, except lust for power!

BJP was single largest party, yet Fadnavis couldn't form govt

Imagine what if BJP got below 250 seats in 2019 Elections?

Vultures from various dynasties would have joined hands & formed Govt!

Can't even imagine what would have happened to India if Modi Ji didn't get majority

There were a slew of leaders waiting to usurp the PM’s chair. In January this year, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, had organised a conference of all tall non-NDA leaders including former PM HD Deve Gowda, Mayawati, Sharad Yadav, Chandrababu Naidu, Farooq Abdullah and others.

In the event of a hung parliament earlier this year, who would have joined hands and who would be the PM?

Would it be Mayawati or would it be Deve Gowda or would Mamata herself be at the helm of affairs?

In simple terms, it would be an indigestible political porridge.

Thank god, as destiny had thought, it was Narendra Modi who emerged victorious as the nation believed in his leadership and his policies for the betterment of the nation.

So does that mean, everything boils down to power, and power alone?

Shiva Sena was conceptualised, formed and sustains itself on the core principles of Hindutva. Never in his life did Bal Thackeray, the founder ever imagine that his son would demolish and deracinate the building blocks of the party with his hobnobbing with Congress and NCP.

Well, as evidenced by a BJP leader, the saffron shawl on Uddhav Thackeray’s shoulders, a shawl that hallmarks the identity of the Sena was conspicuous by its absence.
