In a heartfelt demonstration of unity, service, and devotion, Sikhaid Charitable Trust, in collaboration with Duramix Concrete undertook a remarkable sewa (selfless service) initiative during the grand Rath Yatra 2025 in Puri. This year’s sewa saw the team humbly serve refreshments to over 1.5 lakh devotees as they gathered to witness the divine journey of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra.
The scorching heat and immense footfall didn't deter the spirit of the volunteers from Sikhaid, a grassroots charitable trust known for its humanitarian work across Odisha and India. Partnering with Duramix as the title sponsor, the team set up hydration and refreshment stalls along the yatra route, ensuring pilgrims stayed energized and cared for.
From distributing chilled water bottles, buttermilk, glucose drinks to serving fruits and light snacks — every item handed out came with folded hands and a smile, echoing the core values of Sikhaid: Sewa, Simplicity, and Solidarity.
Speaking on the occasion, Raunak Singh, the founder of Sikhaid Charitable Trust, said,
> “Rath Yatra is not just a festival; it’s an opportunity for us to serve the sangat (community). With Duramix Concrete support this year, we were able to scale our efforts and touch over 1.5 lakh lives in just a few days. It’s not about quantity but about the warmth with which every sip or bite was served.”
Duramix Concrete leadership also shared their joy in being part of this spiritual initiative, aligning their CSR efforts with meaningful ground-level impact. Their contribution helped scale logistics, materials, and volunteer strength required for such a large-scale sewa.
As the sacred chariots rolled through Puri’s streets, it wasn’t just Lord Jagannath’s divine presence that moved the crowd — it was also the countless selfless hands offering a moment of relief, care, and love to strangers. That’s the spirit of Sikhaid.
