At a time when the country has chosen Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the next five years, the Congress is yet to come to terms with the development and is indulging in petty politics. Puducherry chief minister Narayanasamy has accused the BJP of forgetting Tamil Nadu. The BJP has however, told him to stop fighting and open his eyes to reality

Chennai: Puducherry chief minister V Narayanasamy took a dig at the BJP and said that the people of Tamil Nadu voted against them because of their lackadaisical attitude towards the state. The BJP however, hit back at Narayanasamy and said he is busy fighting with the Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry that he is simply unaware of things. The party told him, 'open your eyes' to see the reality.

Narayanasamy said that the Congress was in a huddle for a meeting to analyse what went wrong and understand why they lost even as the party president Rahul Gandhi offered his resignation.

“Congress Working Committee members didn’t accept the resignation and offered support to him (Rahul Gandhi) and all his decisions,” said Narayanasamy.

He further went on to say that the mandate given by the Congress is a sensible one, whereas the BJP mandate wasn’t. Narayanasamy said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not spelt out what he envisions for the country in the next five years, but has only harped on Pulwama and Balakot air strikes.

BJP’s Narayanan Thirupathy reacted to this and said that Narayanasamy has been so busy indulging in fights with Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi that he is unaware of things.

Speaking about allegations of the BJP’s lackadaisical attitude towards Tamil Nadu and its people, Thirupathy said, “The BJP has brought in excellent infrastructure, MGNREGA, Mudra Yojana and even Fasal Bhima Yojana are schemes that have been brought in by the BJP and have helped citizens across the nation.”

Thirupathy also reminded Naryanasamy that the Congress has been rejected by the country. “In Tamil Nadu, the anti-BJP stance is created because of the opposition and certain sections of the media. We will work towards that,” said Thirupathy.

He also pointed out that NEET, Jallikattu and its issues were all brought in by the Congress and the DMK, however, they are now in the opposition and taking a different stance.

“The DMK and Congress must apologise as they are backstabbing the people of Tamil Nadu and also obstructing developmental and infrastructural work,” stated Thirupathy.
