President Ram Nath Kovind celebrates his 74th birthday and the internet has flooded him with wishes. Wishes from across party lines have poured in wishing India’s 14th President.
New Delhi: India’s 14th President turns 74 today and netizens have wished the strong leader a happy and healthy life.
President Kovind was born on October 1, 1945 in Paraunkh village of Uttar Pradesh. He has been serving as India’s 14th President since July 25, 2017.
Ram Nath Kovind had also served as the Governor of Bihar from 2015 to 2017 and was a Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from 1994 to 2006. He was nominated as a presidential candidate by the ruling NDA coalition and won the 2017 presidential election.
Ram Nath Kovind was a lawyer for 16 years before venturing into politics and practiced in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court until 1993.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished President Ram Nath Kovind on his 74th birthday, saying the country had gained from his insights and understanding of policy matters.
"One can always see his passion towards empowering the poor and downtrodden," the prime minister wrote on Twitter. He said India had gained significantly from Kovind's insights and understanding of policy matters.
