New Delhi: Opposition party leaders have started accepting defeat and have started tweeting about it. West Bengal Chief Minister (CM) Mamata Banerjee and Prakash Raj who fought as an independent candidate have tweeted accepting their defeat. Mamata Banerjee has congratulated all winners.

Experts were suggesting that West Bengal would be tough for BJP, but even if they manage to get 6-8 seats, it would be BJP's win. But leads have shown that BJP has performed better than expected. States like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Delhi among others have seen a clean sweep by the BJP. 

Even in Delhi Congress was expecting at least three seats and the Aam Aadmi Party, who till the end tried to fight elections with Congress, was expecting 2-3 seats. But, BJP candidates are leading with lakhs of votes.
