NCB Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana teams busted an interstate and international drug trafficking racket as part of an investigation between April 30 and May 2.
Bengaluru: The Narcotics Control Bureau caught two people engaged in drug trafficking on April 30 and May 1. A person aged 33 years with 26.75 kilograms of ketamine was caught mid-transaction near Movie Land Theatre, Majestic on April 30. The drug was stored in a poly laminated gunny bag which was stashed inside a trolley bag. The supplier and the customer both tried to flee upon spotting NCB officials. The customer, who hails from Chennai was caught by NCB with the drugs while the supplier managed to speed away in his Corolla vehicle before trying to mow down officials who stood in his way.
However, officials tracked him down at Yelahanka at 10am on May 1. Upon interrogation, it was found that the supplier owned two houses in Bengaluru, one in Kengeri and another in Vidyanagar.
Upon a search conducted at the accused’s Kengeri home in his presence, it was also revealed that he manufactured Ketamine at his house. 24.45 kilograms was recovered in the basement of his home which housed a clandestine lab.
NCB also stated that a similar kind of manufacturing base also runs in Hyderabad.
Both accused were taken into custody and interrogated as per Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
The supplier aged, 36 years, who manufactured and supplied drugs from Bengaluru is suspected to have links in South East Asian countries and Australia.
