In a reply to the tabling of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (December 11), there were allegations by the opposition Congress that the BJP was targeting Muslims and favouring non-Muslims.
To this allegation, the Union home minister gave a riveting reply. He said that Muslims in India would not at all be affected by this bill and further emphasised that Muslims in India had adorned top positions.

He also figured in The Indian Express list of 100 Most Powerful Indians of 2011 and again in 2012.
