Synopsis

Fire broke out at Churchill Chamber Building in Mumbai that is just a two-minute walk from Taj Hotel. One person was dead in the mishap. Reason for the fire is not known yet

Mumbai: Fire broke out at a four-storey building near the Taj Mahal Palace hotel at Colaba in south Mumbai, today (July 21), killing one person. Currently the fire has been doused and situation is under control.

The Churchill Chamber Building caught fire and at least 15 people inside the building were rescued.

Firefighters rushed to the spot and climbed the ladder to spray water inside the third-floor of the building.

The reason for fire breaking out is not known. The fire was first spotted at 12.20 pm. Fire was declared level-2 at 12.25 pm.
