Chennai: Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's wife, Latha Rajanikanth on Sunday (July 22), shared a disturbing video where a woman is seen trying to strangle a girl child in front of a makeshift tent, in an attempt to kill her.
Latha runs an NGO, "Peace for Children", a part of Shree Dayaa Foundation, which focuses on welfare and protection of children.
Taking to Twitter, Latha shared a video and appealed to netizens to report the horrendous act.
In her tweet, she wrote, "Let's come together and make a difference. Kindly request everyone to help track this atrocity been committed to a helpless child. Justice must be served and the guilty punished. If anyone has any information, please share with us at our toll-free number 18001208866".
Several people on Twitter were disheartened to see a video of the woman, whom they assumed is the child's mother, trying to strangle her child mercilessly. Twitterati also appreciated Latha Rajanikanth's move.
