Indian Army has changed the colour of its flag from red to blue, with an aim to become more people-friendly
Bengaluru: Next time when you see an Indian military convoy in J&K, don’t be surprised to see a blue flag instead of the red one.
The move comes as an endeavour to become more people-friendly.
Times Now adds that the walls on the Indian Army cantonments are proposed to have pictures of young achievers from Kashmir.
Lieutenant Colonel Q Khan told ANI, “The flags on the military convoys moving with troops from different locations in and out of the Kashmir valley have been changed to blue from red while the walls on the cantonments are proposed to have the pictures of young achievers from Kashmir”.
Lathis to be replaced:
In a further makeover, troops will relinquish the usage of lathis and replace them with just whistles in an effort to stop vehicles.
Kashmir to get more preference:
Messages and pictures of Kashmir will adorn the trucks.
The army has also taken measures to ensure that troops be more friendly with the people.
From opening up the healthcare and services sector in the union territory for investments to boosting the UT’s agriculture sector, the Centre is taking several steps for the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
The abrogation of articles 370 and 35A
It is to be noted that the Indian Parliament abrogated the two articles on August 5, 2019, thus paving way for a complete integration of J&K with the rest of India.
Thereafter, the J&K were split into two Union territories. The Indian government has also taken several measures to restore normalcy and take investments to the newly formed Union territories.
