IRS officer runs 21 kilometres to cast his vote in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan

Jaipur: An IRS officer is gaining significant attention on social media for running 21 kilometres from the city to his village to cast his vote. He was accompanied by his son, who rode a bicycle alongside him. Some other people also joined Sushil Kulhari in this endeavour. Remarkably, he is an experienced marathon runner. 

Casting the vote

This morning, the run was flagged off by his fellow officers from the District Collectorate Office. He ran from Jhunjhunu to his village Tiloka Ka Bas. When he arrived at the polling station, people cheered him on. He cast his vote there and received appreciation from many for his enthusiasm. The distance covered was 21 kilometres. 

A passion for fitness

Sushil Kulhari is currently serving as the Joint Tax Commissioner. Presently, he is overseeing the Planning Department as the Joint Secretary for the Government of Rajasthan. He has a passion for running marathons and has participated in numerous events across the country, including 9 full marathons and 38 half marathons. The length of a full marathon is 42 kilometres and for a half marathon, it is 21 kilometres.
