Expelled Congress leader Sanjay Jha has exposed the Congress party on the Farmers’ Bill

Bengaluru: Expelled Congress leader Sanjay Jha is known for his straightforwardness. In fact, he was shown the door because he dared to speak against his own party and seek rectification of many ills.

Now, as he still remains persona non grata, he has further exposed the grand old party. As the party opposes the farmers’ bill passed by the Parliament, Jha has put out a tweet, saying the Congress too had promised to do what the Narendra Modi government has done.

He said, “Folks, in our Congress Manifesto for 2019 Lok Sabha elections, we had ourselves proposed abolition of APMC Act and making agricultural produce free from restrictions. This is what Modi government has done in the farmers bills. BJP and Congress are on the same page here.”

PM Modi on Bill:

PM Modi also assuaged the feelings of the farmers.

“Middlemen used to take a major part of farmers’ profits. The new law was imperative to save the interests of the farmers. The bill will prove to be a protective cover for the farmers.”

He also added, “There are parties, who ruled the country for decades, and are now trying to misguide farmers. These parties had made electoral promises, these reforms were part of their manifesto but when the NDA has done it, they are opposing it.”

The Prime Minister also assured that the MSP will continue to be given to the farmers. “The new MSP regime was brought by the BJP-led NDA. Opposition parties are spreading fake news that MSP will be withdrawn. I assure the farmers that the MSP will continue in future the way it is happening today. Government will continue purchasing farmers’ produces,” Modi added.

“Anyone can sell their produces in any part of the world, a right, which was denied to farmers so far. However, the new bill gives right to farmers to sell their produce at the price and marker of their choice,” the PM further added.
