After Rahul Gandhi’s “Prime Minister of RSS lies to mother India” remark over detention centres, BJP hit back saying it was during Congress’s rule that the detention centres were built

Bengaluru: You all might be aware of how former AICC chief Rahul Gandhi wrongly attributed ‘Chowkidaar Chor Hai’ comment to the Supreme Court, and how BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi lodged a case at the top court, and how Rahul Gandhi tendered an unconditional apology.

If you had thought that he had learnt his lessons, you are wrong!

An inveterate liar, Rahul Gandhi has again targeted the Prime Minister over his ‘detention’ remark at the Ramlila Maidan a few days ago, saying “Prime Minister of RSS lies to mother India”.

Hours after the Congress scion made this remark, a pugnacious Sambit Patra took Rahul on, showed a Home Ministry reply in Parliament in 2011, in which it said that detention centres were constructed in Assam's Golpara, Kokrajhar, and Silchar.

He said, "The then Congress government said that 362 people were kept in these centres. I want to ask the chieftain of liars -- will you apologize to the country? Rahul Gandhi Ji has no knowledge of any subject but speaks on everything."

He also added, "There is no connection between setting up detention centres and NRC. A detention centre is for foreigners who are in India illegally and to ensure they do not vanish. This is just a confinement centre to control his/her movement.

Even Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the BJP Rajya Sabha MP from Bengaluru took a dig at Congress.

The CAA grants citizenship to the religiously persecuted Hindus and other non-Muslims of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. And the NRC which intends to identify citizens of India is still in a conceptual stage.

However, in the name of protests, several vandalism acts have taken place, leading to a lot of classes.

Even Army Chief General Bipin Rawat has expressed his displeasure over the chaos which has taken place over the CAA, saying leaders do not mislead anyone.

But Asaduddin Owaisi, the AIMIM chief, has criticised the Army Chief, saying he should not enter civilian issues.
