People say that Mother Teresa led a mass conversion of the poor and needy to Christianity. Abhinav Khare deep dives into how she even received $1.25 million from Charles Keating who was responsible the loan and savings crisis of 1980 which cost the people of America $124 billion.

It is said Mother Teresa dedicated all her life to help and uplift the poor. She said sweet words like “peace begins with a smile”. She also won the Nobel Peace Prize. However, Deep Dive with Abhinav Khare finds out that her sainthood, which many thought was well-deserved, was contested by many more!

People say that she led a mass conversion of the poor and needy to Christianity. Mohan Bhagwat, the head of RSS, in this regard said: “It’s good to work for a cause with selfless intentions but Mother Teresa’s work had ulterior motive, which was to convert the person who was being served to Christianity. In the name of service, religious conversions were made.”

Even the British documentary, Hell’s Angel, said that she was “less interested in helping the poor than in using them as an indefatigable source of wretchedness on which to fuel the expansion of her fundamentalist Roman Catholic beliefs”.

Even the patients in her Missionaries of Charity were faced with horrible conditions. Needles and syringes were washed under the tap and reused and medicines were expired.

Mother Teresa said, “There is something beautiful in seeing the poor accept their lot, to suffer it like Christ’s Passion. The world gains much from their suffering.”

Mother Teresa was close friends with Haitian dictator and tyrant Jean-Claude Duvalier. She even received $1.25 million from Charles Keating who was responsible the loan and savings crisis of 1980 which cost the people of America $124 billion.

Till today the financials of Missionaries of Charity are unknown even when it is mandated to be released by the government. She also did not believe that women should have control over their reproductive rights. When she was asked about the rape of Bosnian women, she replied, “I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a direct war, a direct killing — direct murder by the mother herself.”

She was an extremely flawed person. We should move over glorifying white supremacy and realise that she was nothing more than an instrument of the Church. Thus, it is extremely wrong to call her a saint!
