The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has taken to Twitter to thank the nation for standing it. This after the organisation lost contact with Chandrayaan 2’s lander moments before its soft landing on the lunar surface.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has expressed gratitude and thanked the nation for showering it with support even after the organisation lost contact with Chandrayaan 2’s lander during its descent to the lunar surface.
"Thank you for standing by us. We will continue to keep going forward - propelled by the hopes and dreams of Indians across the world!" the Indian Space Research Organisation tweeted, long with a graphic of an imposing looking Moon.

The tweet comes 10 days after ISRO lost contact with the Vikram lander during its attempt to land on the Moon. Contact with Vikram was lost moments before it was to land near the south pole of the Moon.
ISRO as well as the US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration, have been making all-out efforts to re-establish contact with the Chandrayaan-2 lander.
A lunar orbiter operated by NASA was supposed to fly over Vikram's landing site Tuesday and take photographs of the area in order to determine the lander's fate. However, there is no word on whether the fly-by happened.
ISRO has less than four days before night descends on to the part of the Moon where Vikram is and all hope of re-contacting the lander die.
The Chandrayaan-2 orbiter, which has onboard a majority of the mission's experiments, remains safe in orbit around the Moon and will be operational for the next seven years.
