West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on January 25, shared a picture of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah sporting greyish-white long beard. Reacting to this, BJP Union minister Giriraj Singh said that the Centre only removed Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, not salons and razors.
New Delhi: Union minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh on Tuesday (January 28) responded in a hilarious tone stating that Article 370 alone was removed from Jammu and Kashmir and not razors and salons. This comment by the BJP leader came after the Opposition expressed dismay over the leaked photograph of National Conference leader Omar Abdullah sporting a greyish-white long beard.
Taking to Twitter, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee shared a picture of Omar Abdullah with a greyish-white long beard.
"I could not recognise Omar in this picture. Am feeling sad. Unfortunately, this is happening in our democratic country. When will this end ?" Mamata said in a tweet.

— Mamata Banerjee (@MamataOfficial)Reacting to this, BJP leader Giriraj said, "If Omar has a long beard, did we remove razors or salon from Jammu and Kashmir after scrapping Article 370? We did not! These people are members of the tukde-tukde gang. They have made democracy a joke."
"Banerjee is the one who is tarnishing India's democratic image. She has refused to accept the law sanctioned by our Parliament. She has passed a resolution against the Citizenship Act," the BJP leader said.
The photo of former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister emerged on social media on Monday in which the usually clean-shaven Omar is seen with a greyish-white long beard. The source of the photo, however, could not be ascertained.
Omar, who has been under preventive detention along with his father and National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah since August 4, a day before the Centre announced the scrapping of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir by abrogating Articles 370 and 35A of the Constitution, is seen smiling in the photo.
