Another setback for UP govt employees; CM Yogi Adityanath imposes ban on transfers

Lucknow: After freezing arrears and several benefits of its employees, the Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath took another step to impose a ban on the transfer of all officers and employees in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak

The Yogi Adityanath government has imposed a ban on the transfer of all its officers and employees to maintain the availability of the human resources to fight the corona havoc. A circular issued by chief secretary RK Tiwari said all transfers would remain banned till further orders amidst the coronavirus pandemic in the state. According to the circular, the transfer policy made in March 2018 will be valid till 2021-22. The circular also said that only transfers due to unavoidable circumstances will take place with the consent of chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

Recently, the government froze arrears and several financial benefits of its employees to reduce its financial burden. While in another move the government cut salaries of legislators by 30%. Meanwhile, the government also put new projects and development work on hold due to a lack of funds.
