What is Navratri?
Navratri is celebrated four times a year, but the festival in the month of Ashwin is particularly grand across many parts of India. This celebration coincides with the Sun's entry into the sign of Virgo and marks the time to worship the various forms of Amba. For this reason, it is often referred to as Maha Navratri.
When is Navratri 2024?
Navratri is celebrated each year on the tenth day following Mahalaya Amavasya. In 2024, Mahalaya Amavasya falls on October 2nd, which means Navratri will be observed from Thursday, October 3rd, to Saturday, October 12th. Additionally, Saraswati Puja will take place on Friday, October 11th.
