#SareeTwitter: From politicians to actresses Indians make style statement

While a lot of women have shared their love for sarees over time, #sareetwitter took social media, especially Twitter, by storm on Monday when women flooded the social media platform with pictures of themselves in saree even until a minute ago.

From film actresses to journalists to politicians, #SareeTwitter was celebrated by women hailing from varied backgrounds.

Here are few of the pictures posted by prominent personalities for #SareeTwitter:

Priyanka Gandhi took to Twitter to share her memory from the morning puja that took place 22 years ago on the day of her wedding. While she shared her picture on the social media platform, a lot of her followers sent anniversary wishes. At the end, she thanked all of them but clarified that it was not the anniversary but a picture of her in a saree for the #sareetwitter trend online.

Actress Yami Gautam posted a picture of her in black saree saying, “I completely agree with this trend, nothing can match the elegance and beauty of a Saree!
