• Before the auspicious time on the morning of August 19, Monday, prepare by arranging all Rakshabandhan items, including kumkum, rice, sweets, Rakhi, a water-filled pot, and a coconut on a plate.
• During the auspicious time, the brother and sister should sit facing each other. The sister should apply kumkum and rice on her brother's forehead and place a coconut in his hands, preferably one filled with coconut water.
• Next, the sister ties the Rakhi on her brother's right wrist while reciting mantra.
• Serve sweets to each other and exchange gifts. The brother should give a gift to his sister and seek her blessings by touching her feet.
• Perform the aarti for your brother.
• After tying the Rakhi, the sister should also tie Rakhi for her sister-in-law, nephews, etc., in the same manner. Celebrate the festival with a family dinner. Observing Rakshabandhan this way helps strengthen the bond between siblings.
