Mumbai: Viral sensation, South Indian actor Priya Prakash Varrier seems to have thrown netizens in a flurry once again. However, unlike her previous stint, this one has drawn the criticism for Varrier.
The 19-year-old Malayalam actor is all set to make her Bollywood debut with Sridevi Bungalow. The teaser for the movie dropped recently and seems to be a distasteful take on late actor Sridevi's unexpected death in Dubai last year.
Though the movie does not seem to be inspired by the late actor, the name and the content of the video that shows Varrier drowning in a bathtub hit a nerve with the viewers. Take a dekko:
Sridevi Bungalow is directed by Malayalam filmmaker Prasanth Mambully and is reportedly made with a budget of Rs 70 crore. The netizens are taking to Twitter to slam the teaser. Sridevi's husband, filmmaker Boney Kapoor has served Mambully a legal notice.
Confirming the news, Mambully told Cinestaan.com, “We received a legal notice from Mr Boney Kapoor last week. And we will face it. My film is a suspense thriller. I told him (Boney Kapoor) that Sridevi is a common name. My film's character also happens to be an actress. We will face it (the legal case)." When the portal contacted Priya's father, Prakash, he refused to comment on the legal notice.

The teaser of sleazefest masquerading as a movie is a dirty & ugly attempt to tarnish the image of an Indian icon. The movie has to be banned! Nobody should be allowed to get away with such a cheap act for fame & mileage.
